About us – Hilary and Jimmy
We have been running Bealach House as a guest house for 8 years now, having spent many years running larger establishments – Cuilfail Hotel in Kilmelford and then the Fox and Hounds Starbotton in North Yorkshire – it has been a pleasure using our experience to create a special place for guests to stay earning a strong reputation for excellent food and hospitality.
Fortunately many guests have appreciated what we have done here and come back year upon year.
We have received much praise from the press and various awards culminating in receiving a Ce`sar award from the Good Hotel Guide for Scottish Guest House of the year 2009 of which we are very proud. The Ce`sar is given to only 10 hotels in the UK a year and is known as the oscar of the hospitality trade.
Also 2 years ago we were awarded 4 Gold Stars from Visit Scotland for consistently achieving the highest levels of excellence with our grading and a 100% rating for our food since we started.
